Cable (Nathan Summers, Marvel Prime)

Imagine having a son that is actually older then you. That was the case with Cyclops and Cable when he was first introduced in New Mutants #86 (1990) by Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld (okay technically Uncanny X-Men #201 (1986) as a baby), Cable was a product of the 90’s. He was introduced as a seasoned soldier who appeared before the New Mutants and took them under his wings when Magneto and Xavier had essentially abandon them and trained them into a strike force that would eventually become X-Force. It was later revealed that he was the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor (the clone of Jean Grey). After the death of his mother, he was infected with a techno virus which caused him to because more robotic. To find a cure he was sent into the future, where he was raised by a time displaced Cyclops and Jean Grey into a soldier against the future’s overlord Apocalypse.

He eventually journeyed back into the past to prevent that future recruit the New Mutants into the X-force as well as being a member of the X-men and Avengers. Though he has put that mission on hold for other missions, he continues to work to insure the future.

Cable has always been a popular character since he was first introduced and as such has had quite a few figures over the year. However, it wasn’t really until Hasbro relaunched the ML line that Cable has gotten the figures he deserve. TB ones are much too small and skinny.

  •  Why you need it for your collection?:
    • I’m going to be honest and say that this is a bad figure, but for many, was one of the only Cable we ever had. This is too short and skinny to be Cable.
