He’s a man who get the job done, but most of the time, the method he uses borders on the legal and the immoral. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for the “Sgt Fury and his Howling Commandos” #1 1963 (a book trying to keep the soldier fad of the time running), Nick Fury was a soldier in WW2 who was the leader of a First Attack Squad known as the Howling Commando, alongside Dum Dum Dugan and other soldiers who would become the core of SHIELD. After the war, he was given the Infinity Formula, which boast his strength and caused him to age slower. After a time with the CIA, he was asked to help run a new agency known as SHIELD.
After that he became the commander, working with many heroes to help protect the world. However, where he differs from heroes is he is willing to do anything to complete the mission, including killing, false imprisonment or illegal entrance into a country. During the Original Sin storyline, it was revealed that Nick Fury mightn’t have been doing any of the work but instead was using highly advance LMD to work on Earth, while he keep the universe safe from treats that heroes didn’t know about.
As for figures, let’s be honest, when you think of Nick Fury, you think of him in his SHIELD uniform. Fury wouldn’t really ever get a figure that’s not that, excpet for maybe the Unseen version and Scorpio (but that one would be more for his brother then Nick himself).
Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Civil War Giant-man Wave Nick Fury (with Dirk Anger and SHIELD Agent swapable heads)
- This is the classic that most people wear when they become a member of Shield.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- Given that Nick Fury is involved in almost every corner of Marvel, then getting a Nick Fury is a most for any collection, including Avengers, X-men, Cap, Spidey, Wolverine, etc.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No. We have gotten 3 version of this guy already. MOving on.
